Keerthana Krishnan explains how she almost drowned in the JavaScript pool after being thrown into the deep end and how she learned to swim. Drawing on a real-life example, Keerthana shares practical pointers on how to approach JavaScript and tackle new JavaScript libraries like a boss.

She participated in Google Summer of Code 2016 as an intern for Debian OS with the project Improving Voice Video and Chat in Free Software and attended the Grace Hopper Celebration India 2015 as a student scholar and the Open Source Summit 2017 in Japan. She’s also a volunteer for IEEE. Keerthana is a former student ambassador for the International Center for Free Open Source Software, part of the government of Kerala, India.
