You're a developer or system administrator who has been working with Kubernetes and want to be recognized as a Certified Kubernetes Application Developer.

Establish yourself as an expert in developing and maintaining applications with Kubernetes by becoming a Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD). In this two-day training package, you get one day of test prep followed by the opportunity to take the CKAD exam onsite and leave Velocity with a recognized and valuable new certification from the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF).

This onsite training is not for beginners. In order to pass the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam, you will need to prepare in advance by meeting the prerequisites (or some equivalent) listed on this page. When you register for the training, you will be given immediate access to a complimentary six-month subscription to our Safari platform where you can access books, videos, and live online trainings to help you prepare in advance for the exam.

On day one of this two-day training, our top Kubernetes trainer, Sebastien Goasguen, will walk you through all of the key concepts covered by the official CKAD curriculum. Sebastien is a Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, and he knows firsthand what you need to review and practice to pass the exam on your first try.

On the second day, you’ll have the opportunity to take the two-hour proctored online exam onsite and leave Velocity an official Certified Kubernetes Application Developer. We’ll ask you to choose a time slot: either 9:00am or 1:30pm. If you don’t pass the exam on your first try, you will be given the opportunity to retake the online exam at no extra cost on the day and time of your choosing.

All certification fees are included in the training fee.

Sébastien Goasguen built his first compute cluster while working on his PhD in the late ‘90s when they were still called Beowulf clusters; he’s been working on making computing a utility since then. He’s been focused on containers and container orchestration, creating a Kubernetes startup Skippbox where he created kompose, Cabin, and kubeless. Active in the serverless community, he cofounded TriggerMesh, a serverless management platform that builds on top of Kubernetes and Knative. He can be found hiking the Jura or at open source conferences. He’s the author of the Docker Cookbook and coauthor of the Kubernetes Cookbook.
