Conference Buddies Program

If you're going to a new conference, you might want some company to navigate the event and meet people. To help break down networking barriers, we invite you to take part the Conference Buddies Program, inspired by the program pioneered by Java Champion and JDuchess founder Linda van der Pal.

The Buddies Program is not just for those attendees who don’t know anyone or who haven’t been to a conference before. If you know other attendees who will also be there and/or are a regular on the tech conference circuit, you can share your Software Architecture Conference experience with people or mentor less experienced conference-goers and first-time attendees.

Sign up and we’ll match you with two or three other people with similar interests a week or so before the conference begins. In each group, we'll try to include at least one person who has some conference experience. Buddies will have a dedicated table at lunch, Slack channel, Discussion thread in the Attendee Directory, and ribbons for your badge to help you meet as many other Buddies as possible.

Together, you can discuss the sessions you’ve seen, have lunch or dinner, hack on projects...it’s up to you. It’s an easy way to enrich your conference experience and meet fellow professionals in the field.

Please join by February 16 so we can introduce you to your Buddies pod and invite you to the Buddies Slack channel before the conference begins.

Note that you must be registered for the conference in order to participate in the Buddies Program.
