Coming from a diverse background in natural sciences, computer science, statistics, sociology and business administration, Roland Scharrer has been
working as a software engineer, data scientist, strategy consultant and project manager on complex national and international projects. In a decade, he gained a wide-ranging digital
transformation experience in leveraging data, analytics and emerging technologies in a way that influences how organizations approach business challenges to get a competitive advantage.

Roland Scharrer is currently Head of Data and Technology Innovation Officer @AXA REV andAXA Group Chief Technology Innovation Officer

As part of his mandate, he is responsible for leveraging data and emerging technologies at scale with the potential to disrupt the current insurance business model and provide opportunities to shape future businesses.

• Roland started at AXA Group in January 2018 as CTIO/CDO in charge of data & technology innovation teams in Paris, Lausanne, Singapore and San Francisco.
• He joined AXA Germany in 2016 as Head of Data Strategy & Analytics.
• Prior to joining AXA, Roland has worked in Germany, Spain, UK, US and India in IT, in data science and strategy consulting, focusing on the Automotive and Financial Services industries. In his last position, Roland was Chief Data Scientist for Capgemini Consulting.
• Roland graduated in computer engineering, statistics, business administration and design thinking, among others from ESADE Business School Barcelona and Stanford/HPI School of Design Thinking.
