What do DataDog, InfluxData, Lyft, Uber, and LightStep have in common? They’ve all made major open source contributions to observability projects over the last few years. Priyanka Sharma explores the various projects leading the way (including Prometheus, OpenTracing, and Envoy), explains how they fit together, and offers a view of the future ecosystem. In addition to discussing the current movement, Priyanka shares best practices on how organizations can build and contribute to observability in open source, which will continue to strengthen the ecosystem.
