Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and others are a transformative force that could one day create an open financial network for the world. Soups manages the data science and risk team at Coinbase, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world. Compared to fiat currency, cryptocurrency offers a highly unique set of security challenges because it is instantly transferable and transfers cannot be reversed. This makes the challenges of payment fraud and user security problems at Coinbase harder than any other company in the payments space. In this talk, Soups will describe the machine learning system that Coinbase has built to detect potential fraud and fake identities. The Coinbase machine learning system is powered by AWS and Amazon SageMaker, that has resulted in cutting down the training time for the machine learning models from 20 hours to 20 minutes. In this session, we will dive deep into the Coinbase AI solution with Amazon SageMaker.

This keynote is sponsored by Amazon Web Services.
