Launched in 2011, and active in the social-local-mobile space, Goodzer ( is a local search website and free iPhone app that shows shoppers exactly where they can find the item they’re searching for to buy – from a little black dress to the nearly sold out must-have toy of the moment – at all kinds of stores, even the mom-and-pop shops – in any U.S. city, town, or neighborhood.

Here’s a little more background:

  • Goodzer gives large tech giants already in the space a serious run for their money with inventory and product information on more than 2 billion items from half a million brick-and-mortar stores to shopper’s fingertips – that is nearly 1000 times more products than its closest competitor
  • Search results include where it is available for purchase nearby, for how much, directions to the stores and more
  • Since last year Goodzer has made it easier for shoppers to find local stores, research their products and event compare prices, all before stepping foot out of the house or while on the go
  • It displays the price, availability, directions to the store and other related information – and not only for big box stores
  • For merchants getting listed on Goodzer is fast, free and nothing is required of the shop owner – Goodzer’s technology handles it all without having to access point-of-sale systems it sources products and provides stores with a free and seamless way to increase their online and mobile presence, connecting them directly with consumers looking to purchase what they sell
  • Goodzer is free for shoppers and businesses and is now available online and on the iPhone from the App Store

Dmitry Pakhomkin is the co-founder and CEO of Goodzer, the best way to find all sorts products from all kinds of stores everywhere in the country.
After moving to Virginia, Dmitry, a software engineer with advanced degrees in computer science and engineering, got the idea for Goodzer after he wasted hours, driving from one ice rink to another looking for hockey gear. He finally found it just five minutes from his home. Why wasn’t there a search engine for local goods? Across the globe, another computer scientist, Artem Zarutsky, was mulling the same thing and together they created Goodzer.
Founded in 2010 in the D.C. metro area, Goodzer’s technology and search engine are the result of several years of development and can easily scale the automatic aggregation of product inventory data. Goodzer currently searches from two billion goods in five million locations across the country.
