Please note: to attend, your registration must include Location Marketing Bootcamp.

Connecting users with good location information is an integral component of a location based service. And search plays a key role towards this end. This talk describes our experiences building a search engine to show the user a diverse set of relevant place results with or without an explicit query. We ranks places by checkins, proximity, likes, and comments; and focus on data from friends and other users with similar interests. We describe how search can play a key role in improving the quality of an organically created Places database – facilitating easier identification of duplicate and spammy data.
