The key to location is the mobile phone. It used to be that carriers held the key, but now that’s been abstracted away to the OS level. Startups don’t need the carrier to know where their users are anymore. A boat was missed. In the future how can carriers work with technology companies?
Kris Kolodziej is the Associate Director of Product Management & Marketing at Verizon Wireless, driving various location services programs and products. Kris has been in the LBS and geospatial field for over a decade, during which he was responsible for product and business innovation for Silicon Valley startups as well as large companies.
Bryan Trussel is co-founder and CEO of Glympse, a new company focused on
making location sharing commonplace. A 16-year Microsoft veteran, Bryan has
lead focused on delivering solutions for Windows, Interactive TV, Embedded
Systems, Windows CE, MSN and Messenger Games, and Xbox Live Arcade. He has a
BS in Computer Science and an MBA from Kellogg at Northwestern. The
privately held company, headquartered in Redmond, Washington, was founded in
2008 by ex-Microsoft veterans Bryan Trussel, Steve Miller and Jeremy Mercer.

Anne Bezancon is the Founder and President of Placecast, the leader in mobile location-based marketing at scale.
Previously, Anne held senior executive positions at JiWire (Wi-Fi hotspot directory), Productopia (consumer advice), BEAP (CMS) and PCI (strategic consulting), working with clients such as AOL, Intel, Yahoo, Excite and ATT. In 1994, Anne organized the 40,000 participant Forum of the United Nations Conference on Women in Beijing, China, securing major corporate sponsorship from Apple and Hewlett-Packard. She also pioneered the French Minitel, the first large scale online network. Anne is the author of several patents and a frequent speaker and panelist at industry events.
