Raj Advani

Chief Architect, UpNext

Raj Advani is the Chief Architect and co-founder of UpNext. UpNext creates interactive 3D cities for PC and mobile devices.

Raj graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and went on to design web software for economists to aid in their numerical and experimental research. He has been employed at six different universities (UCLA, Caltech, NYU, Columbia, Brown, Princeton), and has contributed to several open source projects. His specialty is java-based web software.

Currently, most mobile applications utilize web optimized tile-based mapping systems. But it there a better solution that takes into account the unique issues facing mobile devices such as loss of connectivity, screen size and touch interfaces.
