Going Mobile with Google Geo APIs

This session will provide an overview of creating Google Maps API application on a mobile platform. I will cover the following topics:

  • Google Static Maps API for lower bandwidth and non-JavaScript browsers.
  • Google Maps API version 3, optimized for mobile browsers.
  • MapKit for the iPhone and MapView for the Android platform.
  • Creating a hybrid application with an embedded browser in an iPhone or Android application for Maps API version 3.

For participants following along, I will cover how to develop a Maps API version 3 application optimized for a mobile browser. Those participants will leave with the code for a basic Google Map that works on a mobile phone.
