The title says it all. This session will explore effective techniques for implementing and growing Facebook business pages. Attendees will get tips on tools and strategies to run a successful campaign on their own.

The session covers:

  • Writing good descriptions with search optimization in mind when users search for a service on Facebook.
  • Architecture of a fan page – well-thought-out tabs on the Fan page.
  • Custom Applications to provide a Fan page with richer content and design.
  • Strategies for launching a fan page when it is ready for the public.
  • Engagement on Facebook: What is it? And how do we measure it? Comments, mentions, increase in fan activity, etc.
  • Educational Value: How it plays into providing users with content that will provide your users with pertinent valuable content. How does it tie in with any other content creation tools that your business is currently using.
  • Entertainment value: How to stand out on someone’s feed and be “social” on Facebook”.
    *Exclusives: How to be exclusive with your content, your service offering within facebook.
  • Examples of mediocre engagement, as well as good examples of fan pages engaging with their fans through entertainment and educational value.
  • Facebook advertising campaigns: Create an effective ad program to promote either a contest, or some unique selling proposition that will encourage users to become fans.
  • Facebook metrics and analytics: Take a look at how to understand facebook insights and take action on trends and feedback received.

Ruben Quinones is the Director of New Media @ Path Interactive, and an Adjunct instructor @ NYU, School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Marketing and Public Relations Studies Program. Teaching “Examining Social Media Networks for Brand Value” a core course in the Digital Media Marketing Certificate Program.

In his strategic role, Ruben provides forward thinking leadership for the company’s social media marketing processes and is also responsible for business development, consulting, and key project management for client Paid Search, Search Engine Optimization and Social marketing campaigns.

A seasoned online marketing professional, prior to joining Path Interactive, Ruben’s related experience includes founding and marketing a one of the Internet’s first vertical search directories, directed at property managers, and was an advertising internet consultant for Verizon Information Services for national brands and small businesses. Ruben is also a blogger, contributing blogger, and speaker on Digital Marketing topics. Ruben Quinones is a graduate of Nyack College in Nyack, NY.

Liked Ruben’s small business examples – it’s easy to attract a lot of fans and attention if you’re already a household name, the trick is for SMBs to be able to use these tools w/out the big brand budgets.
