Web2Open: Where the Attendees Create the Conversation

Web2Open is Web 2.0 Expo's "unconference"- a free, community-driven event happening at Moscone West, where you can connect with other participants to discuss Web 2.0 topics and questions. As an unconference, there will be a mix of pre-scheduled content and an open grid for attendees to add sessions onsite. All talks will emphasize participation and conversation over presentations. The event is a great way to network with other attendees, learn more about elements of Web 2.0, and share your experience!

Web2Open happens Tuesday, May 4 and Wednesday, May 5.

What Are Hybrid Sessions?

We've got a strong line up of speakers in the main conference program so we will be selecting a handful of sessions as "hybrid" talks, accessible to Web2Open registrants. These sessions will be followed with same-topic, speaker-led discussions in the Web2Open rooms.

Hybrid sessions will be announced in early April.

How do I attend Web2Open?

If you are registered for any Web 2.0 Expo package you automatically have access to Web2Open. If you do not have a badge and would like to attend Web2Open for free, register for an Expo pass using code websf10opn. This pass will give you access to Web2Open, Hybrid Sessions, Keynotes, the Expo Hall, and BoFs.

Web2Open vs. Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions

Web2Open sessions are aimed at creating a forum for community dialogue and discussion around topics of interest (last year's included sessions like Entrepreneurship Hacks and Troll Whispering), and take place concurrently with Web 2.0 Expo sessions during the day. BoFs provide the space and opportunity for organizations and groups to connect, network, and share ideas (e.g. Linux, Higher Education) after sessions end for the day. To submit a BoF, please visit the Birds of a Feather page.
