Rekha Murthy is an interaction designer and content producer whose experience spans mobile, Web, and radio. Most recently, she was a product manager and user experience designer for location-aware mobile applications. Rekha’s user-centered research and design work is informed by her experience as a producer at NPR’s “All Things Considered”, and her work with Web startups during the mid-1990s.

Rekha has a Masters from MIT’s Comparative Media Studies program, where her research focused on street media, urban annotation practices, and the supporting digital technologies. Learn more at her Web site.

Kelly is the principal and founder of gotomedia, a San Francisco-based strategic consultancy specializing in user experience, research and interaction design. As a design ethnographer, Kelly continues to seek new methods of applying research-oriented design to interfaces, products, and mobile devices for clients such as Adobe, Apple, Macromedia, Veritas, and Bearing Point. With over 16 years of experience in the industry, Kelly has worked as a strategist and consultant for companies such as Verizon Wireless, Warner Bros. Online, the Blue Cross, Genentech and Wells Fargo. Kelly is a sought after international lecturer on the topics of branding, user experience, usability and design ethnography. Her book, Web Redesign: Workflow that Works is currently a best seller in the technology industry and has quickly become a standard for workflow and user-centered design principles.

John SanGiovanni has more than eight years of experience as a wireless strategist and mobile user interface designer. He is to blame for Zumobi’s obsession with design and to-the-nanosecond interest in technical and cultural trends. Before Zumobi, John was Technical Evangelist and Program Manager for Microsoft Research, where he managed external academic research funding in the areas of mobile technologies and user interfaces. In this role, he filed several patents concerning information visualization, hardware interfaces and interaction techniques for next-generation mobile devices, some of which provide the foundation for Zumobi’s core user experience. Before joining Microsoft, John worked on the Advanced Technology Learning Solutions team at PPI/Knowledge Universe and worked in Studio Entertainment for the Walt Disney Company. John has a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and a concentration on Computing from the University of Florida.

He authored the dotMobi Mobile Web Developers Guide (dev.mobi), the first free publication to cover mobile web design and development from start to finish. Brian also runs one of the largest online communities focused on mobile design (mobiledesign.org).
