Description

There are many conference sessions on “how to get started with X.” But once you’ve gotten up and running, there isn’t always a lot of guidance on how to solve harder issues. Abby Fuller takes you beyond getting started with containers on AWS, covering advanced topics like “my deployments are slow; help!,” how to bring custom AMIs to ECS, how to garbage collect when the built-in options aren’t enough, how to use Docker options that aren’t supported in the AWS UI, how to optimize your load balancer, and how to create, work with, and debug with hybrid clusters.

This talk is not orchestration platform specific. You’ll learn about optimizing and problem solving with all container options on AWS: Kubernetes (and soon EKS), ECS, and Fargate.

Topics include:

  • Garbage collection for fun and profit
  • Making the most of your load balancer
  • Hybrid clusters
  • Debugging production systems
  • Optimizing deployments
