Prerequisite knowledge

Attendees should have a basic understanding of cloud computing, containers, and web application deployment techniques.

Description

This tutorial is for you because:

  • You are a sysadmin or DevOps pro with experience deploying websites and need to understand how to deploy containers.
  • You are a technical manager of a DevOps team and need a strong understanding of the challenges and benefits of deploying containers.

Overview:
Redis is a critical part of scalable web architecture, whether for consumer-facing apps or as an operational database for microservices, and Redis is the most common NoSQL database deployed in containers. Dave Nielsen walks attendees through Redis and compares the steps to deploy Redis in various container frameworks, including Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, Amazon ECS, and Cloud Foundry. By the end of the tutorial, you’ll understand the considerations to take into account when your organization is ready to start deploying your applications and databases using containers and know where to begin to scale your web architecture using containers.
