11:00am Next Generation YSlow

Marcel Duran (Yahoo!)

In addition to existing Firefox/Firebug add-on, YSlow will be available for many browsers – Chrome, IE, Safari, Opera, as well as Mobile browsers and command-line. Please come join us to explore behind-the-scene techniques used to make this “universal” performance measurement tool possible, also find out how you can get involved in next-gen YSlow. There will be a quick sneak peak of upcoming features!

11:08am WebPagetest

Patrick Meenan (Google)

A quick update on all of the changes since Velocity 2010 as well as where we’re going with the codebase.

11:15am Using Weinre for Debugging the Mobile Web

Dave Johnson (Weinre)

This session will demonstrate how to use an awesome new tool called Weinre for debugging mobile web sites. Weinre leverages the WebKit Web Inspector project along with a socket server to connect the browser on a remote device, such as a mobile phone, to a full feature Firebug like debugger on your desktop browser.

11:23am HTTP Archive: the record of web performance

Steve Souders (Google)

The HTTP Archive is a permanent repository for web performance information. It’s similar to the Internet Archive but instead of recording the content of the Web it records how that content is built and served – amount of JavaScript, use of compression, number of redirects, and much more. All the code is open source and all the data is free for download providing a common basis for discovering the Web’s performance bottlenecks and evolving best practices.

Marcel gave a sneak peak at YSlow for mobile at his previous Velocity webcast. Will it be released? Dave got me psyched on Weinre and will do the same for you. And of course Pat Meenan will update us on the omnipresent WebPagetest. I’m hoping to add one more sneak peak here, too.
