Hypertable - Managing Data at Web Scale

Hypertable is an open source, high performance, distributed database modeled after Google’s Bigtable. It differs from traditional database technology in that the design emphasis is on scalability on commodity hardware as opposed to support for ACID transactions and the relational model. Hypertable supports massive sparse tables of data, sorted by a single primary key, a design which has proven to be well-suited for scalable Web 2.0 applications. This presentation will include an architectural overview, a demo of the system, performance studies, and some details of Baidu’s deployment.
