Publishing Perspectives

Edward Nawotka is the founder and editor-in-chief of Publishing Perspectives, the online magazine for the international publishing industry that has been hailed as “the BBC of the book world.” He has covered the book business since 2000, first as an editor for Publishers Weekly and then as a columnist for Bloomberg News. He continues to be a widely published essayist and critic, and speaks frequently about books and publishing, at home and abroad. Ed lives in Houston.

Sourcefabric o.p.s

Fabienne Riener is the Berlin-based Chief Operating Officer at Sourcefabric, a not-for-profit organisation that builds open source software for newsrooms, radio stations and media organisations. Their latest tool, which will be launched during ToC, is an open social production platform for books.

Before joining Sourcefabric in January 2012, Fabienne enjoyed a varied career in the media and arts sector including a two year stint at NBC Europe in Duesseldorf (Germany), running a Film Production company and setting up a Film Festival in Newcastle Upon Tyne (UK). She holds an MA in Cultural Management and has won a Royal Television Society Award in 2008. Having studied and lived in Germany, UK and the US she enjoys being a blogging social media cultural hybrid and feeding her curious mind with news and information about new communication and interaction platforms.

Susan Moody is Director of Marketing and Communications for Worldreader. She has worked in online marketing for various start-ups and companies in Spain and the US including Icon Medialab and Teletech. Additionally, she wrote two children’s books focused on having kids learn about different cultures in an entertaining way. She fully believes in the power books have to enrich kids’ lives and shape their dreams. Susan received her BA from Princeton University in 1994 and a MBA from IESE in Barcelona in 2001.
