FanBridge: Aligning Brands with Social Influencers

Any brand today can have a Twitter and Facebook page to reach people, but understanding the value of social actions and “Likes” is the key that has unlocked a lot of doors for those who have profited from social media. Whether actual dollars or people telling their friends to “check this out,” the ROI comes through engaged fan followings that eventually lead to profiting from a larger audience. Though ROI is ultimately a function of a group of metrics that surround the objectives of a campaign, we’ve consistently seen the “Like” represent an important contributor to measuring the engagement of a fan over their lifetime.

FanBridge focuses on the actionable opportunities for brands and social influencers (musicians, stars, athletes, etc.) to leverage each other’s audiences and resources to cut through the increasingly cluttered worlds of social media, email and digital marketing. To date, the company is up to 115 million fans under management via fan newsletters alone, and 250 million fans under management on Facebook pages.

AJ Magnuson leads the product strategy and development initiatives as Vice President of Product at
FanBridge. AJ was formerly a Co-Founder of damntheradio, the popular social media platform used by the likes of Sony Music and Gatorade, which was acquired by FanBridge in 2011.

As the brainchild for damntheradio, AJ was responsible for merging the platform into the FanBridge
suite, ensuring that every content creator and brand – including A-list acts, independent musicians and retail brands – could create better performing Facebook pages and campaigns that increased fan engagement and monetization opportunities.

Before co-founding damntheradio and joining FanBridge, AJ was one of the original team members of RockYou, Inc., a leading widget provider on the web, where his role consisted of development and product management for many projects on the RockYou site and on social network platforms including
Facebook, Hi5, Bebo, Myspace and Orkut.

AJ holds a Bachelor of Science from Stanford University in Symbolic Systems. AJ is an avid guitarist and rock singer and enjoys distance running and mixed martial arts.
