Shankar Vedantam is the author of The Hidden Brain: How our Unconscious Minds Elect Presidents, Control Markets, Wage Wars and Save Our Lives. He is also a social science correspondent at NPR – National Public Radio. He was formerly a reporter at The Washington Post. From 2007 to 2009, he wrote the Post’s Department of Human Behavior column. Vedantam travels widely to give talks that explore how the science of human behavior shapes corporate life, nonprofit institutions and public policy.
Vedantam has been invited to teach at several academic institutions, including Harvard University and Columbia University. He has served as a senior scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars in Washington, and as a fellow at the Nieman Foundation at Harvard University.
