In past summits Cisco has validated BigData clusters in both OpenSource as well as vendor specific environments. In this session, Cisco will take a deeper look into questions that are often encountered during the deployment of hadoop clusters in the enterprise. Topics such as the impact of simultaneous multiple jobs, mixing variety of workload, visibility and monitoring, impact of higher spindle/speed of IO, network buffering and Service Level Agreement management through careful consideration of compute, storage and network planning. The session further explores the impact of testing with variety of benchmarking tools, how they translate to measuring the underlying infrastructure components and estimating real workload behavior. We will also discuss programmability aspects that enhance visibility and SLA management of BigData clusters.
