At Monsanto, Hadoop is primarily being used for data processing and analysis of machine data generated from sequencing and genotyping machines. As usage of the Hadoop clusters grows, so does the demands around management and monitoring of these systems.

In this talk, we present on how Monsanto uses Cloudera Manager to successfully manage their Hadoop clusters. From installation, to configuration management, service monitoring, trouble shooting and support integration, Cloudera Manager provides Monsanto a comprehensive set of tools to effectively manage their production workloads on the Hadoop clusters.

We will review all the features available in Cloudera manager and highlight the ones that have been most helpful to Monsanto. We will share some of the lessons learnt and best practices on how to use Cloudera Manager. We will conclude with recommendations for improvements and a preview of the future roadmap for Cloudera Manager.
