Ian Timourian
UI/UX and Data Visualization, Paxata

Ian Timourian has a passion for information visualization, and has spent over fifteen years creating powerful interfaces that transform how users interact with large datasets and networks. Ian runs the UX team at Paxata where he combines deep experience in distributed information systems architectures with his strong design and UX skills to develop the rich Paxata interface. Prior to Paxata, Ian was instrumental in developing the interfaces for Tidemark, as well as participating on skunkworks interface projects with Amazon and GE Healthcare. Ian is also a digital artist, displaying his work at galleries in San Francisco, and his ever-evolving tools and languages of choice currently include D3, CoffeeScript, JavaScript, Python, Processing, CFDG and Photoshop. For his graduate thesis at the Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon, Ian was co-author of an instant messaging platform (which was spun-off and later sold to Motorola), and his undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Electrical/Computer Engineering are from Duke University.
