Microsoft DataMarket: Leveraging cloud to deliver public domain and commercial data to millions

Windows Azure Marketplace includes data, imagery, and real-time web services from leading commercial data providers and authoritative public data sources. Customers have access to datasets such as demographic, environmental, financial, retail, weather and sports. Developers can build applications for various platforms like PC, Servers, Azure, Windows Phone, IPhone, IPAD etc using data from DataMarket. Developers can access the data as a service through an industry standard ODATA API. information workers can use the data to perform analysis using tools like Excel, PowerPivot and 3rd party applications. DataMarket also includes visualizations and analytics to enable insight on top of data.

Sudhir Hasbe is a Sr. Product Manager at Microsoft focusing on SQL Azure and Middleware. Mr. Hasbe is responsible for DataMarket, Microsoft’s information marketplace. Mr. Hasbe is responsible for building ISV partner ecosystem around Windows Azure Platform. Mr. Hasbe has passion for incubation businesses and has worked at few startup businesses prior to Microsoft.

Sudhir Hasbe has rich background in ERP, EAI and Supply chain management space. Prior to Microsoft Mr. Hasbe has worked with more than 55 companies in 10 countries over 10 years implementing and integrating ERP systems with various supply chain and data collection solutions.

Bruno Aziza is a recognized authority on Business Intelligence and Information Management. He is the co-author of best-selling book, “Drive Business Performance: Enabling a Culture of Intelligent Execution” and a Fellow at the Advanced Performance Institute, a world-leading and independent advisory group specialized in organizational performance. Drs. Kaplan & Norton, of Balanced Scorecard fame, praise Aziza for moving “the field of performance management forward in important new directions.”

Aziza has guest lectured at Stanford University in the US and the Cranfield School of Management in the UK. Aziza was educated in France, Germany, the UK and the US and completed Executive Education programs from Harvard Business School , the Kellogg School of Management and the MIT Sloan School of Management. He holds a Master’s degree in Business and Economics and speaks French, German and English.

Aziza has held management positions at Apple Inc., Business Objects (SAP), AppStream (Symantec) and Decathlon SA. He currently works on Microsoft Business Intelligence go-to-market strategy and and execution for partners, services, sales and marketing. Aziza lives in Seattle with his family and enjoys sports and travelling.
