  • Explore case studies demonstrating real-time insight to action and closed-loop operational intelligence

Description

The interconnected world presents unprecedented opportunities to gain new insights on behavior, both human and nonhuman alike, ranging from customers changing their lifestyle patterns to industrial equipment steadily trending toward a catastrophic failure situation. However, it also poses unprecedented challenges to how organizations can effectively act on these moments of opportunities in real time—which might range from minutes after recognizing a lifestyle change and prioritizing offers and promotions to exploit it to the mere microseconds companies have to take preventative action on expensive industrial equipment from certain failure that would have cost the organization millions of dollars in downtime.

Michael O’Connell and San Zaw share real-world case studies demonstrating how real-time analytics solves these challenges. Case studies include:

  • How one bank detected potential fraudulent transactions from understanding the oddity in behavior
  • How a margin-strapped oil and gas operator optimizes its operations to detect trending patterns in its expensive critical equipment ahead of time to avoid highly costly equipment failure and downtime
  • How Singapore’s transportation industry aims to improve its quality of service for commuters
