Doing “algebra” with emotions can lead to new insights about customer behavior. Chad Jennings presents a serverless big data analytics platform that allows you to capture and analyze raw data and train machine learning models using classic data processing techniques combined with modern NLP and machine learning techniques (at big data scale) to process text to discern not just the sentiment but also the underlying emotion driving that sentiment. Chad also explores the foundational psychology behind the platform and leads a deep dive into the system architecture, which can analyze emotional content at scale.

Chad W. Jennings is a product manager for BigQuery at Google Cloud. Chad has a long history in navigation processing; he came to Google from the startup world, where he worked on navigation algorithms on airplanes, helicopters, and mobile phones, and holds a PhD in aeronautics and astronautics from Stanford University.
