Businesses regularly store exabytes of information that can be easily accessed and searched. And yet a daunting challenge remains: How do you get actionable insights out of all the data to each level of the business?
Alvin Heib and Guy Leroux offer an overview of ClickFox—a platform able to cope with high-performance analytical needs, from bits and bytes to solving a customer needs—covering the platform’s virtualization, big data, and analytical layers. Business analysts and data scientists from the utilities, finance, insurance, wireless, and telecom industries, all with very high data ingestion, security, and governance needs, use ClickFox to discover, create, and analyze end-to-end customer journeys.
To be able to cope with a very loose type of technical requirements, ClickFox needed a very Agile way to allocate resources. The company chose OpenStack, the number-one open source project for private cloud deployment, to kickstart the project. And there’s nothing more annoying than having to change your software stack for new use cases, so ClickFox chose Cloudera, which provides the most integrated big data and AI suites. Alvin and Guy explain how ClickFox teams moved workloads from standard MapReduce (Hadoop and HDFS) to NoSQL (HBase) without modifying the underlying Cloudera platform.
Alvin Heib is a senior partner for enablement at Cloudera. An open source enthusiast, Alvin has a deep knowledge of OpenStack, SDN Open Contrail, and Cloudera’s big data ecosystem. He was an early adopter of Hadoop as a service and is a true believer that not only will the public cloud slowly take over the private cloud but also big data will natively sit in the cloud next to high-data-generating applications. Previously, Alvin was a transformation program portfolio manager.
Guy Leroux is product manager for data lake solutions at Atos. He is passionate about providing better solutions for IT organizations, particularly for security and privacy.
