What you'll learn

  • Explore WANdisco's strongly consistent replication service for replicating between cloud object stores, HDFS, NFS, and other S3- and Hadoop-compatible filesystems

Description

The cloud is an important component of modern enterprise data systems. Sharing data between on-premises and cloud storage is a challenge in such hybrid cloud deployments. The limited replication capabilities built into cloud object stores and the Hadoop HDFS filesystem restricts the types of solutions that can be built. An additional complication is the eventual consistent nature of cloud object stores and their built-in replication capabilities.

Eric Lotter offers an overview of WANdisco’s strongly consistent replication service for replicating between cloud object stores, HDFS, NFS, and other S3- and Hadoop-compatible filesystems. Replication is performed across the WAN, with no distance limitations. Most importantly, replicated storage in all data centers is simultaneously writable.

This session is sponsored by WANdisco.
