ING’s Think Forward strategy is to empower people in life and in business using advanced analytics (AA). In order to deliver a differentiating customer experience, ING’s strategic priorities are to develop analytics skills to understand its customers better, increase the pace of innovation, and think beyond traditional banking to develop new services and business models.

ING Wholesale Banking, the division of ING serving corporate and institutional customers with financial markets, lending, payments, and trade products, employs 11,000 people in 40 different countries. Doron Reuter explains how, over the past three years, the ING Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics team has developed the capabilities to deliver end-to-end data driven algorithmic products using big data, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence to add real value to corporate and institutional customers.

Doron Reuter is head of business development for the ING Wholesale Banking Advanced Analytics team, where he helps create customer value with artificial intelligence by initiating projects and partnerships in order to ensure the development of data-driven algorithmic products for ING’s employees and clients. Doron has been a corporate and investment banker for 15 years at BNP Paribas in London, Fortis, and ING in The Netherlands. Previously, Doron worked at an internet startup in the ’90s and at Rational Software (now IBM). Doron holds a bachelor of science in computer science & economics and a MBA. He was born in South Africa and now lives in The Netherlands with his wife and two children. Doron is treasurer of a charity, and when family and work allow, he swims, ice skates, works out at the gym, runs, and is up for anything legal and healthy as long as he has good company.
