The average consumer is now becoming a global consumer, whether it be through international travel or sharing and consuming international media that generates data in several regions. As companies seek to expand their global data footprint, many new challenges arise. How can data be shared across countries? How can a company go about managing all of the policies and regulations specific to each country that customers reside in? Brands of large organizations need to know trends at a regional level but be able to broadcast insights at a global level while meeting the security and privacy guidelines of their organization and local governments. Global companies must be able to understand and unify data from many data centers often based all over the world.

Clara Fletcher explores best practices and lessons learned in international data management and security. Creating a global data enterprise is only going to become more crucial to companies. The cost of not having a unified strategy for businesses will be large and may come in the form of redundant infrastructure expenses, low KPI adoption, and unnecessary organizational overhead. Tackling the security and organizational challenges of creating a multinational solution is complicated, but Clara outlines several short-term and long-term practices that can be developed to ensure that a central global platform is compliant with enterprise security standards and meets the demands of large organizations.
