In 2016, digital advertising overtook TV in overall media spend, surpassing $70 billion in annual revenue. The companies that will come out on top in this new digital media landscape will be those that can cut through the noise and reach the right consumer with the right message at the right time.

Rebel AI builds platforms that have to decide which ad to serve to a particular user in a matter of milliseconds—and report on it in real time to our clients. Manny Puentes explains how Rebel AI decides which ads to serve across devices and how it delivers multidimension reporting in milliseconds by leveraging data pipelines that use Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Cascading, Oozie, and Druid. These technologies were selected because of the simplicity this pipeline provides. In any company, technology should exist to serve the business, not the other way around. Manny stresses the importance of having each piece of the pipeline be fault-tolerant and scalable for the sake of growing and protecting the business.
