Rakesh Menon
Chief Engineer, Head of Technology, McLaren Applied Technology

Seventeen years in the analytics arena has seen Rakesh Menon work on various projects across multiple industries, from manufacturing, consumer electronics, healthcare, and banking to telco and more. Starting out in an academic environment, he was engaged in research, training, and consulting in the areas of quality, reliability, data, and text mining. He has published a number of journals/articles in these areas. Having obtained his PhD, Rakesh moved out of the academic environment to garner rich experiences in MNCs and startups alike, in both end user as well as service provider environments.

A large part of his career was spent within the consumer banking space, where he has designed and put to use multiple frameworks that optimize for consumer-service provider interactions. His unique blend of research, consulting, and end-user experience endows him with an enhanced appreciation of the practical dynamics involved in translating problems to solutions.

Originally trained as a civil engineer, Rakesh holds double Master’s in civil and financial engineering. His PhD was in the area of text mining applied to the product development domain.
