Our goal is to drive engagement through PayPal product comprehension and recommendation of relevant products to consumers.

This talk will is about:
• How do we use data to boost engagement for PayPal products with our consumers
• How we recommend consumers to merchants
• How we discover interconnections within consumers and merchants

We will be talking about these technologies:
• Collaborative Filtering and how we scale our models on our Hadoop cluster
• How we design our Content Models and Hybrid models
• How we use Property graphs and Graph modeling
• Visualizing our data for stakeholders
• How we take our models to production

Sujit Mathew


Sujit Mathew is a Software Development Manager at the Consumer Group in PayPal. Where his team builds data driven predictive models that drive consumer engagement. Sujit has also worked as a Technology lead and Developer and was responsible for delivering products ranging across Point of Sale, Compliance Platform, Wallet and Mobile apps.

Prior to PayPal, Sujit worked in the Digital Signal Processing group at Motorola Mobility. Sujit graduated with a Masters degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore and his interests include Machine Learning, Big Data analytics, Payments and Web Application Development .

Yew Yap Goh


Yew Yap is software engineer at PayPal. He has worked on recommendation systems for marketing and personalization in PayPal. Prior that, he has worked on different type of systems such as Internet Banking and Operational Risk Management
