Stories are a powerful communication vehicle. They engage the target audience, evoke emotions, and linger with you.

We will share how you can use data and put context into content via powerful storytelling techniques. The process starts with intuitive exploration of large data sets, creation of beautiful data intelligent content, followed by curation via the addition of images, text, and charts to complete the narrative. All this directly on big data, without the need to learn any programming languages.

Hear about design choices that augment storytelling, provide a balance between user empowerment and simplicity, and provide a delightful user experience.

Selene Chew


Selene Chew is a User Experience Design Leader at Adatao, the Silicon-Valley-based leader in enterprise Big Apps. She has taught “Storytelling through Design Media” at the Ohio State University Department of Design. She won the 2012 Netexplo Grand Prix for “Blindspot”, and was a Global Finalist for the 2011 James Dyson Award. Selene earned her Masters of Fine Arts at OSU and completed her undergraduate degree in Industrial Design at the National University of Singapore.
