What happens when a small team of data evangelists sets off on a mission to create an ‘encyclopedic’ data resource at one of the world’s biggest insurance companies? In 2011 that’s just what happened at Allstate Insurance, with the goal to help data users of all types – developers, business users, data scientists, ETL specialists – gain a single centralized place where they could quickly and easily answer data questions without fear of bandwidth constraints or shallow aggregate tables. Four years later, their success is a shining example of how Hadoop, paired with self-service tools for data discovery and reporting, can transform even the biggest businesses to empower their organizations to make data-driven decisions.

Attend this session to hear why Allstate undertook this journey, and how their usage of Tableau on top of Cloudera Hadoop has helped them build a culture of analytics for professionals of all skill levels.
