Sally Carson
CEO & Co-founder, Pinoccio

Sally’s the CEO & Co-founder of Pinoccio — the easiest Internet of Things platform out there. Web-enabled and mesh-networked right out of the box. Prototype your product with the Pinoccio Scout microcontroller and web app. Bring your product to market with the Pinoccio Mini OEM module and streaming REST API.

Last year, Pinoccio successfully raised over $100,000 on IndieGogo, shipping to backers all over the world.

What are they building with Pinoccio?

  • Remote sensor networks for Maple tree farms.
  • Smart badge systems for conferences.
  • Frog song detection devices for scientific research.
  • Web-enabled remote controls for folks with limited mobility.
  • Mesh networked tracking of goods for granular supply chain management.
  • Instrumented relief aid shipments.
  • Kegerator temperature controllers (of course)

Pinoccio has been featured in WIRED, MAKE Magazine, Engadget, and currently has a Maker-in-Residence working out of AutoDesk’s Pier 9 fabrication facility.

Prior to Pinoccio, Sally worked as a User Experience Designer with Yahoo, Splunk, Singly, the George Lucas Educational Foundation, Findery, and more.

She’s a bicycle advocate and a retired NYC bicycle messenger. One time, she rode her bike from Canada to Miami in three weeks (100 miles a day) to raise money for the American Cancer Society and Hospice. It was really, really hard.
