We’ve all seen how connected products can transform industries, and manufacturing is no exception. Many manufacturers are taking their first steps toward digitization by connecting people, processes, data, and things to capture the value of the Internet of Everything (IoE). A great deal of attention is now being paid to how this shift toward digitization is disrupting manufacturing, launching a new industrial revolution that is creating profound opportunities for IoT entrepreneurs.
In this session, Tony Shakib, Cisco’s Vice President, IoE Vertical Solutions Group, will talk about common themes in industrial digitization. He’ll share insights about how “connected everything,” big data analytics, and cool factory floor apps are changing manufacturing as we know it.
Tony’s session will close with thoughts about how innovators can take advantage of opportunities driven by this digital manufacturing disruption. He’ll showcase a few startups focused on industrial IoT and tell you how you can learn more about their approach to the market and their partnership with Cisco.
As vice president of IoE Vertical Business Solutions for Cisco, Tony Shakib leads Cisco’s Internet of Everything business development, industrial solutions creation, vertical thought leadership and customer relevancy across Process Manufacturing (Oil & Gas and Mining), Discrete Manufacturing, Transportation, Utilities, Smart City, M2M, Retail and Defense verticals.
