We're looking forward to launching our first Security Conference. Below is information to help you get the most out of your time at Security 2016.

Registration / Check-in Hours

Stop by Registration to pick up your badge and other materials.

  • Monday: 7:30am – 6:00pm, 3rd floor promenade
  • Tuesday: 7:30am – 6:00pm, 3rd floor promenade
  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 5:30pm, 3rd floor promenade

For Sunday Training, Satellite Registration will take place on Sunday from 8:00am - 5:00pm outside of Concourse G on the Concourse Level.

Use Your Check-In QR Code at Registration

You'll receive your “Security Check-in Code” email the day before the event. This email contains your check-in QR code that you can scan to check in at the conference, either from your smartphone or a printout.

Your Security badge

Your badge includes a passive RFID chip that contains an ID number. None of your personal information is stored in your RFID badge. We use the aggregate traffic–flow information from the badges to help us better manage the event. For more details or to opt out, visit the Customer Service desk at Registration after you pick up your badge. Read more.

Speaker Lounge Hours

If you are speaking at Security, please check-in and pick up your badge at the Speaker Lounge, located in the Lincoln Suite on the 4th Floor.

  • Monday: 8:00am – 5:30pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 6:00pm

For Monday training courses, check-in and registration for both speakers and attendees will take place on Monday from 8:00am - 5:00pm in the Sutton Complex Foyer, 2nd floor.

Stop by the Sponsor Pavilion in the Grand Ballroom Foyer to check out the sponsors and exhibitors displaying the latest in defensive security related tools and technologies.

Training and Tutorial Preparation—Save the WiFi!

Birds of a Feather (BoF) Sessions

Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions provide networking opportunities for attendees interested in the same projects and topics to meet in a casual setting.

BoFs at Security will happen during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday in Americas Hall 1.

Create your own topic at the sign-up board near registration (topics can be about individual projects or broader topics like best practices, standards, job function, industry, etc.), or join one of the topic tables below:

Online Attendee Directory

The Online Attendee Directory is now open. See who else will be at Security this year, set up your personal profile, message other attendees, and manage your contacts. You will need to make sure you are opted-in to the Attendee Directory to begin using it.

Set Up Your Personal Schedule

Create your own Security agenda using the personal scheduler function. Mark the presentations and events you want to attend by clicking on the calendar icon next to each listing on the website. You can then access it by clicking on the "personal schedule" link in the Schedule View page. You can also use the Event App to build your daily schedule.

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless Internet will be available throughout the conference area. Please use the following WiFi Network Information:

  • Network name (SSID): SecurityConf
  • Password: oreillyconf

Keep in mind that you're sharing the network with your fellow Security attendees, so please refrain from downloading large files while on the conference network. In addition, please do not use personal Mi-Fis or Hotspots as they interrupt our network signal. If you need assistance getting online, please visit the customer service desk in Registration or send a tweet or private message to @OReillySecurity.

Speaker Slides

We'll be posting speaker slides as we get them; however keep in mind not all speakers choose to make their slides available for download.

Video Recordings

All keynotes and sessions at Security World are being recorded (pending speaker consent). This video compilation will be available for viewing in Safari about three weeks after the conference ends. Please note: If you have a Platinum or Gold pass, the video compilation will automatically be added to your O'Reilly Account.

Nursing Room

If you need a private, nearby space for pumping or breastfeeding while you're onsite at the conference, please visit the Customer Service desk in the conference registration area for information and access.

Photography & video

Our goal is to capture the excitement of our conferences, and you may see photographers or videographers (including ones we’ve hired) documenting this event. Photos or videos taken by or on behalf of O’Reilly may be posted on one or more of our sites or used in future marketing materials and publications. We also encourage attendees to share their conference experiences through social media. It’s possible that you would appear in some of these shots. We invite you to speak directly with any photographer if you have concerns about their activities. Please note that audio and video recording or broadcasting of presentations (keynotes, sessions, tutorials, workshops, and training) by attendees is not permitted.
