Blake has been into ruby since way back in 2001, and is the creator of Sinatra, the popular ruby microframework. Blake spends his days at Heroku, where he makes mind-blowing features out of ruby and erlang, and often says “you’re doing it all wrong”. He speaks regularly at ruby events and in conjunction maintains a completely indiscernible beard-shaving schedule.

I agree with Donald. It would have helped out quite a bit if there was some sort of knowledge level / prereq type description for the tutorials. The tutorial was good and gave me some extra insight into Sinatra, but it would have been stellar if the objectives had been more clearly defined and focused (which would have been assisted by knowledge level / prereq info).

Blake took the time to explain to the beginners. I understand that a mixed group makes it hard to teach at one level. He asked at the beginning the level of knowledge and stated he would do some basic knowledge explanations.

I am sure that advanced people were most likely unhappy because of the level discussed. These tutorials need to be set for particular levels and beginning is a very valid level as well as advanced.

Great tutorial and now very interested in digging more into Sinatra.

Hi Blake,

Should we have Sinatra installed prior to the session? Anything else?

Thanks, Ken
