Automated Code Quality Checking In Ruby And Rails
Location: Pavilion 2 - 3 Level:
Code quality tools are starting to emerge more and more in the Ruby community. Tools like Flog, Heckle, Reek, Roodi, Saikuro and Simian are all useful in finding problematic code in your application so you can fix it. Similar tools have been available in the Java and .NET communities for years, and are commonly included in automated builds as a matter of course.
In this session, you’ll learn what these tools do and why. You’ll get to see how to include them in your own automated builds and to configure them to levels that are appropriate for you and your project. Finally, you’ll get a taste of how to extend these tools with your own checks and contribute back to the community.
