Python usage is growing. Yet there appear to be many who program in
python as if it were shell (as is apparent from code found in the
wild). While this is excusable for one time scripts, it becomes a
bigger issue when you start sharing your “script” with others. This talk
is aimed at beginners and to guide people towards good programming
practices, it will cover file layout, (intra) file organization, composite scripts, designing for testing, testing, packaging and distribution.

Matt would like to be an Open Source pragmatist, but is probably more of a zealot. He once impersonated Alan Cox, apparently they look similar. He has spoken at OSCON, PyCON, SCALE and local user groups in Utah and the Bay Area. Matt has programmed in Python since 2000 writing websites, as well tooling and scripts for search engines, build systems, and business intelligence. He is a rabid Linux (l)user.
