The developers of the data acquisition component of the IceCube project present how they are using open source software to collect data from the world's largest neutrino detector buried across 1 cubic kilometer, 2 kilometers down, in the ice under the South Pole. The astrophysical importance of the project and the experience of traveling to and living at the South Pole will also be discussed. Read more.
