Homer Hummel received his B.A. in Mathematics from UCLA in 1967. He served in the US Army for 3 years in the area of logistics. Since then he has had a 36-year career in computer software testing. He began his career working for the US Air Force Satellite Control Facility in the areas of telemetry processing, orbit determination and satellite attitude control, with contractors System Development Corporation, Unisys and Applied Technology Associates. For 11years Hummel has performed software testing and quality assurance of enterprise information systems at JPL with contractors OAO Corporation and Computer Sciences Corporation. He has specialized in test automation tools, both commercial and custom built. Hummel has been a Perl enthusiast for 10 years and a Unix enthusiast for his entire career.
