Stupid Django Tricks

Location: E145 Level: Novice

(3.83, 6 ratings)

I’ll cover five “stupid tricks” you can pull with Django. Each one starts with a stupid idea which will ultimately lead to a smart conclusion. It we’re lucky, hilarity will ensue along the way.

The five stupid tricks:

  • Web application golf: an entire Django app in one screenful of code.
  • International Talk like a Pirate Day, Django-style: (ab)using middleware.
  • Stupidity-driven testing: unit tests the Django way.
  • Spamming your editors: (ab)using signals.
  • Go Fark yourself: handling lots of traffic.
