LTS Tutorials: Using Ubuntu in the Enterprise

This session will demonstrate how easy it is to deploy Ubuntu in the Enterprise by demonstrating installation and configuration of:

  • Network based, hands-off deployment
  • LAMP Server (Linux, Apache, MySQL & PHP)
  • File Servers (NFS, SMB, FTP)
  • Securing the Server (IPtables & web-authentication)

Ubuntu is ready for and supported on the Enterprise, and this session outlines how simple it is to install, configure, and set in production Ubuntu servers.

Christer Edwards is currently a Linux Instructor and coureware developer for Guru Labs, LC. He has been active in documentation and community development areas of Ubuntu since Ubuntu 5.04. His main focus in 2007 was US Teams, building Ubuntu communities in all 50 states. In 2008 he plans include Ubuntu user education, involvement and LTS improvements.
