Although Swift is steadily gaining traction and credibility among developers, some still have trouble believing in Swift’s ability when it comes to serverless. This uncertainty is to be expected since Swift is still a very new language and isn’t as established or supported as languages like Python or frameworks like Node.js. In fact, most Swift developers continue to depend on other languages and platforms for their backend and server-side needs and haven’t taken the time to try out Swift on the server side.

Break the ice and warm up your cold feet with Timirah James as she explores server-side Swift and walks you through the process of building a serverless app using the popular web framework Vapor. You’ll discover the progression of the Swift language and the benefits of Swift end-to-end; learn how to build a serverless app with Swift; dive into Swift versus your favorite backend language; and get an intro to Vapor.
