After nearly 7 years as a MySQL Sales Engineer, covering Scandinavia and BeNeLux, Anders Karlsson is now a Database Architect at Recorded Future, architecting the massive datastores that Recorded Future uses.

Anders specializes in SQL standards, database performance, GIS support, High Availability and Large Datastores.

Besides his day job, Anders also runs several websites in his spare time, supporting Swedish blues and rock bands, keeping track of the Swedish blues scene and documents festivals and gigs in pictures and by sound recordings.

Does it really work well to have large amount of data on Amazon EC2? Yes it does, but it does require some careful thinking and testing. EC2 is not like your standard Linux box when in terms of cabability of sustaining a high load and large amounts of data. But it can sure be done, but in a different way.
