Increasingly systems built with MySQL are required to be highly
available. One of the most important technologies for availability is an
online, or ‘hot’ backup, which can make a consistent binary copy of the
database while it is being used. InnoDB Hot Backup is the only
production quality tool that can make online binary backups of a major
MySQL table type. In this session we will explore the backup strategies
using the Hot Backup utility and present our plans moving forward.
