MySQL 5.1 introduces partitioning – a very useful feature for databases
with large tables. The latest release, MySQL 5.5 enhances partitioning to
make them even more user friendly and powerful.
This tutorial explains the benefits of partitioning and shows in practice
how to take advantage of its features.
Attendees will get acquainted with partition types, the syntax to use them,
the analysis and other preparatory work, how to run benchmarks, and how to
manage partitions in practice.
